University of Montevallo
I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Montevallo in 2009. Also, I earned my masters degree in Elementary Education from the same university in 2011.

I started my career at CIS, in August 2011, as a 4th grade teacher. I am now in my 8th year of teaching at Isabella High School.

When I was 4 years old, my family moved to the good ole town of Clanton. I attended Clanton Elementary, Henry M. Adair Junior High, and graduated from Chilton County Highschool. Afterward, I continued my education by attending the University of Montevallo. At the university, I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education. There was never any doubt that I wanted to become an educator. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I am looking forward to many more years in the field of education.

“I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.”
