Guidelines for Transitioning to and from Online Learning

𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴:

𒊹︎Students are not allowed to make impromptu decisions about transitioning to and from online learning.

𒊹︎If an on campus student wishes to transition from on campus instruction to online learning, Mr. Turner, IHS Assistant Principal, must first be contacted.

𒊹︎Parents can email their request to Mr. Turner at clturner@chiltonboe.com. Mr. Turner will call the parent to confirm the email and response. He will also use this conversation as an opportunity to make sure that parents understand how to post online attendance each day.

𒊹︎If a student decides to transition to Online Learning without first receiving approval from Mr. Turner, the student will receive an unexcused absence for days of school missed. Unexcused absences can result in failing grades and truancy referrals.

𒊹︎We are asking that students that are currently doing Online Learning continue to learn virtually until the end of the first nine weeks of school.

We are trying to be patient and understanding with each situation. However, in order to provide some sort of stability for our faculty and staff, we need students and parents to follow proper protocols for transitioning to and from Online Learning. This policy does not pertain to students that are on-campus learners that have been sent home to quarantine due to COVID exposure or a positive COVID test.
